1 Year old

1 year
Well, the time has come...I no longer have a baby, I now  have a toddler! I am excited to see Kinsley grow and see her little personality take shape. I am also a little nervous about the attitude. Kinsley is already a drama queen!

So much has changed in the last month and there have been a lot of firsts. Kinsley met her first and only cousin, Audrey. She wasn't too impressed and sure didn't like when her Momma or Grandma were holding baby Audrey. Kinsley seemed like such a big girl while we were visiting in Colorado. Not only was she so much bigger than her new cousin, but she actually new what was going on and even helped a little. It was a long 8 hour trip each way but she did awesome and it was well worth it!
Aren't they just so cute with their matchiness!
Kinsley is over it. Cuteness!

Kinsley had her first swim lessons the first week of June. The water was frigged but she LOVED it! She didn't care that she was shivering and her lips were blue. We are still working on blowing bubbles instead of breathing in the water...
Waiting patiently to get in the water

Kinsley stayed at both Grandma and Grandpas' houses for the first time while Chris and I went on vacation with 3 other couples. It was nice to get away but I sure did miss that little girl, attitude and all!
The girls at Lambert's
While we were gone Kinsley got her first tooth! She took her first steps the Sunday before we left. I am really glad because she took more steps while we were gone and was ready to practice when we got home.
The day before Kinsley's birthday she got her first haircut. She did a great job! There wasn't much that needed cut but it helped to even the ends up.
First haircut
On Kinsley's actual birthday 20 of us went to a Royals game. Karissa made Kinsley a sign in hopes of getting us on TV.
Not the best picture but cute sign!

I didn't see it on TV but... we got it signed by the Shortstop Alcides Escobar! It is a cool story, but kind of long so skip on down if you don't care about the story. Here it is:
So Chris, Kinsley and I were in the truck waiting to pay to park and a guy in another truck rolls down his window, yells at us, and asks if we have a parking pass. We tell him no and he hands us this purple parking pass. Since we were with other people I felt like we needed to park by them but we could at least use the parking pass as a way to get in and not pay the 10 bucks to park. We get to the booth thing and the lady scans our purple pass. Chris asks where we are supposed to go. She looked shocked and said, "have you never parked here before? You are in for a treat! This is as close to the stadium you can get, it's where the players park." When were heard that we said forget about the rest of our group we are parking in this lot! It really was so close. It was amazing. After the game (the Royals lost 9-1. Terrible!) while we were getting ready to put Kinsley in the truck we saw these amazingly nice cars driving out of a back lot and people running to their window. They all yelled that it was Escobar. I grabbed Kinsley and her sign and ran to his window. I felt a little bad that I was bothering him especially after a loss like that so I made sure he knew it was Kinsley's birthday and then I told him he had a sweet car. He said "Thanks" and rolled up his window.

Kind of a girly autograph but whatever
Kinsley's birthday party was the Saturday after her birthday. She will also have one tomorrow night (a week later). The party went really good. Kinsley had fun with all of her friends and got a lot of new toys and outfits.
Birthday girl!
I hate that you can't see her dress in this picture! It was the inspiration for the theme of the party. The dress was pink and green polka dot. She looked so cute in it!
I made the cake to match the theme. I was pretty proud of it!

Surprise polka dots on the inside

Kinsley hasn't really ever had sweets so I was excited to see her reaction as she dug in to this delicious cake!

That is what I got...just picking at it...no smashing or anything...disappointed. She really didn't even make it to the cake part, just the icing. I guess it's not a bad thing that she doesn't have a huge sweet tooth yet.

Kinsley had her One Year pictures done tonight! I can't wait to see how they turn out. Pretty sure she is clapping in half of them...
I almost forgot! Kinsley got her ears pierced on her birthday! She cried a lot but now she doesn't mess with them at all and they look adorable!

Age: 12 months (it sounds better than one year!)
Weight/percentile: 20.2 pounds/34th percentile
Height/percentile: 29.75 inches/69th percentile
Head circumference: 17.5 inches/31st percentile (so Kinsley bonked her head really good a couple of days ago, I think the nurse measured the bump too. Otherwise her head grew a lot!)
Eye color: Blue, sometimes green if you look deep into her eyes
Hair color: Light brown. It is getting long and thick in the back. I even pulled it back into a little pony tail. She looked adorable
Teeth: 2!! On the bottom right in front. Those little boogers are sharp!
Diaper size: Size 3
Clothing size: 9 month clothes fit fine but she wears a lot of 12 month clothes too. Except in shorts, I have to get a 6 month size or smaller for shorts. Size 2-3 shoes
Favorite food: Kinsley will eat any fruit. She isn't liking green beans at the moment and is loving carrots. Maybe she got burned out on green beans. She transitioned over to vitamin D milk a few weeks before her birthday. For the most part she is a good eater!
Favorite activity: Swimming! Playing outside, playing with new birthday toys
Movement: Kinsley practically runs around the house with her little walker. She has taken quite a few steps but I think she is still a little chicken to do too much.
Sounds/talking: I Anytime she sees Chris she says "Hey Dada!" It is cute. I love how excited she gets to see us!

Well, I guess I can't blog on here anymore since I don't have a baby!  I'll just have to start over... just kidding!
***Update
I thought I should add a few of my favorite pictures from Kinsley's birthday parties and her one year pictures.

One of my favorites!

Love this one too.

Man, this kid is cute!

11 Months old

11 Months
These pictures are getting harder and harder to take. She doesn't want to sit still and smile for a camera anymore.
I am so sad that this is her last "month" picture. Next month she will be one year old! Ugh! It is so hard to believe how fast this year has gone.
Kinsley has become such a big girl over the last month. She crawls everywhere, stands up on everything, and is walking with her little toy walker. Kinsley eats everything and always wants whatever we are eating. Girl gets so excited when she sees a straw! I have tried really hard not to let her have anything sweet or fried. I will let her have cake on her birthday but I really want to hold off on the fried stuff for as long as possible.
Kinsley has gone back to sleeping through the night. Once in a while she will still wake up but if we let her cry for a few minutes she usually puts herself back to sleep. Thank goodness!
Working part time has been amazing! It has given me more time to do things like go to the Zoo, take walks and go to the library. Kinsley doesn't care too much about the animals at the Zoo but loves to be out and about with other kids. I think Kinsley is happy that I'm working part time too. :)
I just realized she had animal print on to go to the Zoo. How cool is she!?

Watch out world, crazy driver on the loose!
Chris, Kinsley and I went to a Royals game a few weeks ago. It was quite chilly but we stayed warm and the Royals won! Kinsley loves watching Chris play softball and really enjoyed the Royals game. She has the clapping and cheering part down!

We had awesome seats! 6 rows behind the Royals dugout
I had my first official Mother's Day. Even though I had to work it was a nice day just hanging out with the family. Kinsley even got me a present:
Love it!

Happy Mother's Day!
Silly faces:

And the best part of the month...I'm an Aunt and Kinsley is a cousin! Baby Audrey (X"ticia) was born on 5/22 and 1:36 a.m. She weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 20 inches long.

Kinsley, my mom and I will leave Sunday to go see her. Kinsley is so excited to meet her cousin.

Age: 11 months
Weight/percentile: 18lbs 8oz
Height/percentile: 28.5 inches
Head circumference: Probably small
Eye color: Still blue
Hair color: Light brown. I might trim it just a little right around her birthday
Teeth: Nothing
Diaper size: Size 3 :( Switched her over on 5/16
Clothing size: Still 9 month clothes. Size 2 shoes
Favorite food: Kinsley is liking fruit and meats more. She loves green beans and juice boxes. She had her first Popsicle last week. It was homemade so no extra sugar or anything.
Favorite activity: Playing with anything she shouldn't play with, eating paper, going for walks and being outside.
Movement: Kinsley is standing on her own for really long periods of time. She also loves walking behind her walker.
Sounds/talking: I taught her how to say "huh uh"... oops. She is telling us all kinds of things, we just don't quite understand her yet.

10 Months old

Miss Sass

She got the sticker so now she is happy

My last post was only 2 1/2 weeks ago but so much has changed! For example, on 4/9 I walked in to Kinsley's room and saw this:
Standing after a nap
I totally let her stand there crying while I ran grabbed my phone and snapped a few pics. We lowered her bed all the way down a few weeks later. Kinsley has also mastered crawling! She is pretty fast and very rarely reverts back to army crawling. Just this week Kinsley started pulling up on all the furniture and is even doing some cruising. This girl is growing way to fast!
At her last appointment the Dr. said she could eat anything, as long as she didn't choke on it and it didn't contain honey she could eat it. We have let her eat pretty much anything and she loves it! She loves feeding herself and won't eat "baby food" anymore.
She ate the whole frozen waffle!
I am so excited to be going part time next week. I can't wait to have more time to spend with Kinsley. It worked really well for her to go to the shop with Chris when she was younger but now she is getting more mobile and does not like being contained. With the nicer weather coming (wish it was already here!) we will be able to take walks to the shop and meet Chris for lunch.
I'm not sure what happened to my awesome sleeper but I WANT HER BACK!!! I really don't know what happened. One night she just started waking up in the middle of the night. She isn't hungry and nothing appears to be wrong. She just wakes up crying, I go into her room, give her her wubble (binky), rock her for a few minutes and lay her back down. Sometimes it's just one time through the night, sometimes it's 4 or 5 times. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them!

Age: 10 months
Weight/percentile: I'll weigh her next month
Height/percentile: I'll try to get her height too
Head circumference: we'll see about the head
Eye color: Still blue. Some days at the right angle you can see the green come through
Hair color: Light brown. It is starting to get long in the back
Teeth: Where are they!?
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: Mostly 9 month clothes. Size 2 shoes
Favorite food: Kinsley will eat almost anything as long as she can feed it to herself. She loves scrambled eggs, most veggies especially carrots, crackers, waffles, pasta, dry cereal, yogurt, beans, and all kinds of other things. She doesn't really care for fruits so much and won't eat mushrooms or yellow squash.
Favorite activity: Pulling everything out of the diaper bag, dirty clothes, my purse, whatever. She is fast at it  too. She will pull something out and throw it then go for the next thing, then the next. It's kinda funny to watch actually.
She also loves laughing, especially when I tell her "no".
Movement: Like crazy. She crawls on her hands and knees, pulls up on furniture, does a little cruising on the furniture, and climbs all over  Mommy and Daddy
Sounds/talking: I love how it sounds like she is having conversation with us. The other day she started crawling down the hall and I said "Where do you think your going?". She said, "Dadda". I told her he had gone to work and she made a squeal like she was sad he left. So funny!

9 Months old

9 Months
I know this is a terrible picture but Kinsley had a really bad upset tummy and I was not going to chance getting one of her nice outfits dirty. Poor thing was sick for a good 5 days. I took her to the Dr. when she decided to only eat 1-2 oz of her bottle instead of 6! He (not my regular Dr.) said it was just a virus. UGH!
I am kind of slacking this month. We have had a lot going on the past month and a half. We celebrated birthdays, St. Patrick's Day, Easter and just had a baby shower for X""ticia (Jessica and Chad's baby-that's not her real name). We spent a lot of time at the church during the Passion Play that Chris was in.

St. Patrick's Day

Passion Play. Kinsley was a little unsure of Chris with all his make up on.

Easter

Notice Kinsley's little bracelet I made her?
Jessica's shower.

Kinsley is becoming less of a baby every day. It make me so sad but so excited to see her little personality come out. She is still army crawling but is trying to for real crawl. She gets up on her hands and knees and takes two little "steps" then goes back to the army crawl. She is also trying to pull herself up on the couch and her bed. We already moved her mattress down once, may have to do it again. Kinsley is eating all kinds of things and even drinks from a straw! I am trying to teach her a few things in sign language like "more" and "thank you". She uses her own sign language for "more" by pounding on the table!
"I love asparagus!"
"Grandpa let's me finish off his beer"
It was just root beer and there wasn't anything left in the bottle.

Age: 9 months (9 1/2 by the time I get this posted)
Weight/percentile: 17lbs 2oz/ 17th percentile (She lost weight!? Maybe a difference in scales or time of day? The Dr. wasn't concerned)
Height/percentile: 28.5in/ 87th percentile
Head circumference: 16.5in/ 10th percentile
Eye color: Still blue
Hair color: Light brown. The back is darker than the top. She has a little bald spot where her headband sits :/
Teeth: None!
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: She still wears a lot of 6 month onsies but definitely needs the 9 month pants. Her Easter dress was 12 month.
Favorite food: She is starting to get pickier. She used to love bananas and avocados but won't eat them anymore. She ate a whole spear of asparagus one night and loved it. She screamed when I took it away. The Dr. told us to try anything we wanted except milk and honey. So maybe we will try some meats soon.
Favorite activity: She loves walks. The weather has been nice enough lately to go for walks! She also likes playing with the dogs at my parent's house.
Movement: Still army crawling but trying really hard to for real crawl. She loves to throw herself back and look at things upside down. She is squirrely sometimes
Sounds/talking: She says momma! It's more like momomom, but I'll take it! She also says what sounds like "bye" when she waves bye-bye. If you ask her "What does the doggy say?" she makes a high pitched "bark".  She is one smart cookie already!

On my Birthday. 8 1/2 months postpartum
Finding time to go to the gym or do an exercise video at home hasn't been easy. Maybe it's motivation that I'm having trouble finding. I weigh less now than before I got pregnant and wear a size smaller in jeans but I really need to start toning! We are going on a boating trip in June and if you can't tell in the pic, my butt has completely disappeared.  That oughta look real nice in a swimming suit. All in all I am pretty proud of how I look after gaining so much pregnancy weight...until I sit down...

8 Months old

"I'm so excited to be 8 months old!"

Wink Wink

On Kinsley's 8 month birthday we had a major snow storm! Pretty much everything in the city was closed. Unfortunately, nurses don't get snow days so I had to work that evening. We squeezed in a little time to play in the snow and help (watch) Daddy snow blow the neighbors' driveways. Kinsley didn't seem to care about the snow either way. Maybe next year we can go sledding!
Fun with Daddy!

Yes, she has socks on her hands!
How else do you keep baby hands warm?

This has been such a fun month! Kinsley is really getting a personality. It seems like she has a new trick everyday! She still loves to laugh but now she also clicks her tongue, gives raspberries and smacks her lips. The other day she woke up from her nap and I took her binky (Wubbanub- If you don't have one of these you. need. one! By the way, that is the first time I have linked anything. Hope it works! Back to the story...) So, I took her binky and set it by her. She rolled over, grabbed it and stuck it in her mouth. Then she looked at me and smiled really big like "I got it!" I took it again, set it pretty far away and said something like " 'gasp' Kinsley! You don't need that!". That girl 'crawled' over, grabbed the bink, stuck it in her mouth, looked and me and busted up laughing! It is so funny to see how she responds to my reactions. Kinsley has also been working on her drama queen attitude, and seems to get her feelings hurt easily. Sometimes it's cute, sometimes it's annoying. It makes me a little nervous for the years to come.

Aww, so sad. Such a DQ
Kinsley has been working on crawling over the last month. She is becoming an expert army crawler! This video was taken on 2/13. She has gotten even better and faster at it the past week.
Kinsley working on crawling.

I had so much fun picking out little Valentine's day presents for Kinsley! I am sure she didn't even notice but it was still fun.
The name of the book is "I Love You Stinky Face". Love it!

Adorable!

We finally got Kinsley's "sitting" pics back. I originally told Chris I probably wouldn't buy very many. Well...the pictures came...and I couldn't choose...so I bought the whole disc... Enjoy!

Age: 8 months
Weight/percentile: 17lbs 8oz/34th percentile
Height/percentile:
Head circumference:
Eye color: Blue with a hint of green
Hair color: Light brown/blonde. It hasn't gotten too much thicker. Maybe a little longer.
Teeth: She may be a one year old with no teeth...
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: Mostly 6 month. I had to bump her up to 9-12 month leggings, mostly for the length.
Favorite food: She loves peas and carrots. She's had avocado, applesauce (first fruit) red pepper, and white potato.  Here is a short clip of Kinsley eating applesauce and red pepper mixed:

Favorite activity: Jumping, army crawling, playing "peek-a-boo", playing with things that aren't toys (shoes, Kleenex box, remotes, air vents)
Movement: She can move pretty fast. She is getting better at army crawling. It won't be long before she is full on crawling!
Sounds/talking: Sometimes it sounds like she says "okay" and other things in response to us. She is making sounds like baba, dada, gaga, "t", and "th". Still no mama but we are working on it! :)

Whenever I get back to the gym and get ripped I will show my progress! I wouldn't count on one anytime soon. :)
