8 Months

8 Months!

It has been another busy, fun, celebration-filled month! And this girl just keeps growing!

Jessica and Audrey were in town for Kinsley's birthday/ Father's day. We had fun going to the park, riding the train, going to the discovery center and playing together. My mom, sisters and I even got away for a girl's night while the guys took the little girls swimming. Callie LOVED the water! Thankfully my mom and sisters helped me finish some last minute projects and get the house in order for our first party at the new house. They party was good, but we definitely need some living room furniture.
Cousins on Father's Day!

Girl's night painting. So fun!!

Callie loves scooting herself around in the water

Kinsley's birthday and Father's day. We celebrated Kinsley's birthday a LOT more than Father's Day...poor Chris
Callie enjoyed her first Fourth of July! I worked the night before and the night of the fourth so we went to a friend's house in town for the evening. Callie loved playing with a glow stick and watching Kinsley do fireworks. She also got to take her first boat ride!

looking all cute and patriotic
On the boat!
Chris and I just got back from a 5 day vacation to the Riviera Maya in Mexico. It was an awesome time away and I already miss the beautiful weather but man did I miss those girls! Thankfully Callie didn't grow to much while we were gone. I was afraid she would start crawling or something crazy and I would miss it! She DID start driving...
She loves driving!
Miss it already

Weight/percentile: According to the scale at home she is 16.2 lbs

Movement:  Callie has started scooting backward on her tummy. She loves to clap when Kinsley is singing!

She thinks she can feed herself now

7 Months

7 Months

I nearly forgot this girl's 7 month birthday! I think that may have been the fastest month ever! ugh, slow down little girl! Notice how well she is sitting up. It is amazing how much can change in one short month.

Although I don't like how fast Callie is growing up, I really love seeing her personality come out. I thought she was going to be my quiet, calm, no attitude child. HA! She may have more attitude that Kinsley! The other day I got out a sippy cup to see if Callie would drink from it. She was so excited when she saw it and wanted it in her mouth. I gave her a little drink of water out of it then set it on the counter. She started making a grunting noise like "Mom, I want more!" but I wanted her to grab the cup and try to drink from it. I left it on the counter and told her to pick it up. This sweet face threw a complete tantrum because I wouldn't hold the cup for her! Oh man, I am in trouble!

Most of the time Callie is very Happy. She has started giving hugs and kisses. Most of the time they are more like attacks but I still love it. She grabs my face and pulls me in tight for a nice open mouth slobber... I mean kiss.

Wow, I really have been busy! I don't have very many pictures to add. Kinsley's birthday is on Sunday (same as Father's Day this year) and we are having all of our family over so we have been working hard to finish up some projects before then. Then I am taking a week break from the house! Here's what I've got:

Driving her car. Watch out!

A sneak peek of Callie's 6 Month pictures.
6 Months
And a sneak peek of her new room

I promise to do a whole post on just the house. And I guess I need to do one for Kinsley's birthday too. Seriously time, slow down!

Height/percentile: Getting longer too.
Eye color: Dark blue
Hair color: Light brown and starting to lay down in the back
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: Mostly 6 months. The other day she wore a NB skirt with a 9-12 month top, Crazy how sizes differ
Shoe size: Pretty much rockin' the bare feet!
Favorite food: We have moved on to orange food now! Callie loves sweet potatoes and puffs but only if you put the puff in her mouth. She is so lazy already!
Favorite activity: Sitting up and reading books
Movement:  I can pretty much sit Callie on the floor and walk away and she's good. She likes to reach for toys around her and usually ends up on her tummy or back.
Sounds/talking: Still grunting and pterodactyl-ing. no babbling yet.
Sleep: She has had a few restless nights since we've moved. She will wake up in the middle of the night squirming but still half asleep. Usually I can stick the wubbanub back in her mouth and she's fine.

6 Months!

Happy half birthday!
It is getting harder and harder to take a clear picture of this squirmy girl. We have had another busy month and a month full of "firsts". We have been so busy I haven't had time to think about up-coming birthdays, laundry, cleaning, etc. much less blogging! So, it's a few weeks late this month oops. On the plus side, now I can include Callie's 6 month stats and you get to hear about our new house!

First, the house. This whole process of moving and buying an new house has taken up most of my time. We officially closed on the new house on May 20th and had to be out of our old house by May 22nd. I spent a lot of time before closing packing and preparing for projects at the new house. After closing, I have spent all my time on those projects! These poor girls are starting to feel abandoned. Soon they will have a nice big house to live in.  The move has not seemed to bother Callie much. Kinsley on the other hand is not liking the idea of someone else sleeping at her house (the old house). More on the house next time. For now, here is a sneak peek of the outside.

The new house!

In the midst of chaos we did find some time to relax, have fun, and be together as a family. We all went fishing and had a cookout one evening. It was Kinsley and Callie's first fishing trip! Kinsley actually caught the first fish. Chris even caught a couple... I had to take them off the hook for him but hey, it's a start

Looking cool in her sunglasses

Mother's Day!

Once Callie started eating cereal there was no stopping her. This girl likes to eat! She had her first bite of real food on May 7th. We started with spinach then broccoli, asparagus and green beans.

blurry spinach face!

Callie LOVES her exersaucer!

Yum! Toes!
And now for a little side-by-side comparison

Kinsley at 6 months. Definitely sisters!

Age: 6 months
Weight/percentile: 15lbs 6oz/33%
Height/percentile: 26.3in/64%
Eye color: Dark blue with a smidge of green
Hair color: Light brown.
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: Mostly 6 months. I found a whole bunch of 3-6 month clothes in her closet while we were moving. Hopefully some of them will fit for a little bit!
Shoe size: Lately we've been going barefoot or socks. I think size one probably fit her best.
Favorite food: Out of the small variety she has tried, I'd say her favorite so far is broccoli.
Favorite activity: Playing in her new (to her) exersaucer, spending time outside.
Movement:  Callie is sitting up so well! I stay close by just in case she topples over, but she can sit up for a good 10 min at a time.
Sounds/talking: Callie has a very distinct grunt when she is getting tired and one for when Kinsley is getting too close.
Sleep: So thankful for good sleepers! Callie has been taking a really short morning nap (30 min) then a long afternoon nap (2-3 hours).

5 Months

Such a big girl!
I am so much in denial that my little baby is 5 months old. That is way too close to 6 months old which means I have to start planning her 1 year birthday and I am not ready for that! I held a brand new baby the other day and although I miss Callie being that small I am loving the little personality she is developing. This girl gives the biggest smiles (especially at 5 am when she is supposed to be sleeping) and the best belly laughs.

This month was full of family and surprises. Jessica and Audrey made a surprise visit just a few days before Easter! It was so much fun to have them here and do some Easter activities together. We had a little Easter party (decorated eggs, had bunny shaped Rice Krispie Treats, made an Easter craft) and went to an Easter egg hunt. Callie slept through most of the activities but still had fun playing with Jessica and Audrey while they were here.

The Saturday before Easter we spent time with Chris's extended family. Callie got to meet one of his aunts and got a couple of Easter baskets full of candy and toys. Easter Sunday my extended family was in town. We had another Easter egg hunt where the girls got even more candy. I'd say these girls are pretty spoiled!

Easter party! (Callie is sleeping)
I'm kinda proud of the craft.
Kinsley wrote her name if you couldn't tell
Kinsley and Callie's Easter baskets.

Cousins

It was a little windy out

Cheese!

Callie has learned a few new tricks this month. She loves sitting up in her Bumbo to read books, she learned how to blow raspberries, and she is reaching for things that are dangled in front of her. She has been working on rolling over too. She is really good at rolling tummy to back, not so great at rolling back to tummy. (I'm going to try to post video-not sure they will come across right)

Maybe she'll be the athletic one.

Reading in the Bumbo

So silly

She had her first bite of cereal and her first haircut just a couple days before she turned 5 months old. I'd say we had an eventful month!
Callie is Excited to get rid of the rat tail!

Age: 5 months
Weight/percentile: no weight this month
Height/percentile: no height either
Eye color: Still dark blue
Hair color: Light brown. No more rat tail!
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: Mostly 3 month. Some 6 month
Shoe size: Newborn shoes are officially too small. Some of the size 1's are still a little big though.
Favorite food: Callie got to try a little bit of cereal. Tasty!
Favorite activity: Watching her sister be silly, being read to, sleeping
Movement: Whenever I lay Callie down on a blanket on the floor she scoots herself off in less than 10 min. Still working on rolling over better
Sounds/talking: Callie is so loud! She loves to talk. Chris says she sounds like a pterodactyl
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. She has been waking up around 530 to eat. It probably doesn't help that Kinsley has been waking up around 1230 and 430 every night.

4 Months

Such a happy girl! Always has her hands in her mouth

Another busy month has flown by. It has been especially crazy because we decided to put our house on the market. We originally planned on first of May but thought we better bump it up to first of April to catch the most people looking for houses. After talking to a realtor she said the sooner the better, things are already selling fast! So March first we listed it for sale.

Just over two weeks later we sold it!

my cute little model

It was the most hectic two weeks. Trying to keep the house clean and making sure we were out of the house (which was usually at nap time) was exhausting! So glad it's over. Now we just have to find a house. :/
The weather has been so nice lately. We are loving being outside and going to the park. Callie loves swinging and riding in the bike trailer. Aunt Jan got some pretty good giggles out of her while she was swinging.
not the best picture but look at that tongue!

Again with the hand! She looks so tiny next to Kinsley

Callie is getting so much better at her giggle. Several times we have told Kinsley to be more gentle with Callie ("Kinsley please don't jump over Callie") and Callie just starts laughing! How can you tell Kinsley to stop doing something that is making Callie laugh!?  I can tell they are going to be little trouble makers together and hopefully best friends.

One morning while I was at work I got a phone call at about 6am from Chris. I was sure he was going to tell me Callie was awake- she usually sleeps through the night and is usually still asleep when I get home. Instead he tells me she rolled over to her tummy in her sleep! She has moved all over the place but has not rolled over again. We will work on that this month and keep you posted next month.

Age: 4 months
Weight/percentile: 13 lbs/ 30th percentile
Height/percentile: 24.5 in/ 53rd percentile

Hair color: Light brown. She is getting a bald spot in the back and has a rat tail. I'm going to have to trim it up soon
Diaper size: Size 2
Clothing size: 3 month
Shoe size: She is between the newborn size and the size 1
Favorite food: mmmm Milk!  The Dr. said we can start solids anytime... we might wait a couple months. :)
Favorite activity: Playing outside, swinging, taking walks
Movement: Callie is getting so active. She kicks and moves her arms so much. She is starting to roll over.
Sounds/talking: Callie is very "talkative". She makes little cooing sounds and gurgling sounds.
Sleep: Still sleeping good. She is a wild sleeper though, I never know how I'm going to find her in the morning.

3 Months

Callie is not sure what to think about being
3 months old and sitting up on her own!

Just kidding... she loves it!

Where did my infant go? Although she isn't super little anymore, it has been fun to see Callie's personality start to show. This girl loves to smile, especially at her sister. Anytime Kinsley walks in the room Callie gives her a big smile. Kinsley gets excited to see her smile too.  Callie is also starting to laugh. She is so ticklish. If you find the right spot she squirms and makes one little giggle sound. I haven't figured out how to get her to full on laugh yet.
Kinsley had "guest day" at preschool this month. She decided to take Callie. Callie slept the whole time and didn't play like Kinsley had hoped.
On February 7th we had Callie dedicated at church. She got to wear the special dedication dress (and headband).  She was pretty content through it all.
She always has that hand in her mouth!

Oh yeah, I chopped my hair :/
My time off of work went way too fast! I am so glad I only work 2 days a week. The first weekend went pretty smoothly, I didn't even get tired! Callie and Chris on the other hand did not have such a smooth weekend. I guess we did not practice enough with the bottle because she didn't want anything to do with it. They eventually figured it out.
Doesn't he look thrilled?
One of my favorite holidays is Valentine's Day. It really became a favorite after Kinsley was born. It is just a fun day to have heart shaped things. During the week we made a Valentine's picture for the grandparents and cards for all the aunts. On Valentine's Day for breakfast (after I got off work) we had heart shaped pancakes. Kinsley was disappointed they weren't George pancakes (regular round) and Callie was sad I wouldn't let her eat any. Chris had to work at the flower show so the girls and I headed to Barnes and Nobel to pick out their Valentine's Day books. For lunch we had heart shaped pizza and heart shaped pink velvet cake. All this while wearing Valentine's day shirts and matching hats. So fun!

Yup, She's a cutie

Check out the little baby balloon!

Hair color: Light brown. It is definitely getting thinner and she still has a rooster tail.
Diaper size: Size 2! We switched over to size two right when she turned 3 months.
Clothing size: Mostly 3 month clothes. Hardly any of the Newborn stuff fits and the 0-3 is starting to get snug
Shoe size: she is growing out of the newborn shoes already
Favorite food: Loving the milk....just not out of a bottle.
Favorite activity: Playing with Kinsley, watching other kids paly
